Letter: ‘Tripod Magazine’ Launch, March 2, 2007
Some of you will already have heard that our new Three Cities project, Tripod magazine and podcast, is soon to be launched across the East Midlands. The magazine is a high-profile showcase for the best new writing from Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, whilst the podcast allows us to broadcast the liveliest and best spoken-word work in the region.
The first issue includes an interview with Iain M Banks, a feature on Jean Binta Breeze’s new book and an exclusive short story from Nicola Monaghan — and our podcast will feature spoken word from across the region so that artists like Rob Gee, Michelle Hubbard and the Flying Donkeys get their fair share of attention too.
We very much hope that you will be able to join us for the launch of our fantastically good-looking first issue at Derby’s Assembly Rooms, on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 7.30pm. There will be nibbles and drinks, and lively appearances from performance poets Steve Rooney of Leicester and Michelle ‘Mother’ Hubbard of Nottingham’s Black Drop, plus storytelling from Derby’s Simon Heywood.
The event brings together some of the biggest writing names in the region, alongside great performers and those writers whose work appears in our first issue. Please join us and bring a guest, to help us highlight the creativity of the Three Cities and make this a party to remember!
Please do let us know if you can make it, so that we know how many pretzels and wine glasses we need!
Best wishes to you all

Hi I have been requesting copies of Tripod Mag. Nothing has turned up yet.
If poss in addition to my own copy I had hoped I could have some extra ones to give to people attending events, courses or weekly writers groups here at Mo-mentum.
Of course I have been asking writers to requet their own copies and some have recently received theirs.
I am also encourages writers to send work in.
Good Luck with it all – I look fwd to getting a copy of issue one and subsequent issues.
