Wanted: Spoken Word Practitioners, Poets, Rappers…

The West Wing Arts Centre in Slough is launching this Autumn “Ticket to ride”, the first spoken word festival in Slough. As part of the festival, the West Wing is organising Spoken word/ poetry/ rap workshops for young people (12-19 years old) in various Youth Centres in Slough, which will culminate in a final performance/competition at the West Wing Arts Centre.

The workshops will be delivered in October and November 2007. Session dates and times will be confirmed. The programme will include a varied set of dynamic and exciting activities to nurture young talent, increase their confidence and help young people to express themselves thorough spoken word.

We are looking for Spoken word practitioners/ poets/rappers to devise and run the sessions under the guidance of the West Wing Outreach co-ordinator. You must have experience leading and working with young people in a creative, energetic and fun environment. You must also hold a current CRB check and have Public Liability Insurance.
