News from Northamptonshire Literature Development Officer

For the last few months I’ve been working with literary consultant Steve Dearden, and in consultation with a cross section of Northamptonshire’s literary community, in order to develop a new year plan for literature in the county.

The plan identifies areas of need which I, as Literature Development Officer, will aim to address over the next three years. The plan is available in summary form from litnorthants.wordpress.com — I hope you find it as exciting and challenging as I do.

Working writers database: I’m putting together a database of writers and other literature professionals working, or wanting to work, within Northamptonshire. This might include authors, poets, performance artists/speakers, tutors, scriptwriters and others.

The database will be available on request from the Literature Development Officer and will give potential employers information on literature professionals available for work in the county. If you’d like to be included on the database, please contact me.

— Kate Wilkinson, Northamptonshire Literature Development Officer.
